Pinterest is a cool site that let’s users share photos they find on the web or upload photos from their computer. Each person is given a board to pin them on, kind of like pinning a postcard or photo onto a bulletin board so people passing by can stop and take a look.
You can create multiple boards for different things like hobbies, food, favorites, etc. You get to name the boards yourself and aren’t locked into any specific category.
Here is a way to use Pinterest to drive some traffic to your blog.
On my review site I have a post I wrote on How to Make A Rejuvenating Foot Bath with Essential Oils. We used to own a wholesale lavender business and we gave our customers recipes for how to use essential oils, especially lavender essential oil.
If I wanted to drive traffic to this post using Pinterest I would pin this photo onto a board I created on my Pinterest account and it would link back to this post.
Here’s How:
1. Copy the permalink for the post you want to use. You want to make sure this post has a photo if you are going to pin it to Pinterest.
The permalink is the permanent link to the specific post, not the homepage. For example the permalink to the article I am using in this example is http://sweetiesreviews.com/how-to-make-a-rejuvenating-foot-bath-with-essential-oils
2.Visit Pinterest.com and log into your account (or create one).
3. Click Add at the top right.
4. Click Add a Pin.

5. Paste the Permalink to the blog post into the box and click Find Images.

6. Now you can add a description, create a board (or use one of the boards you already have from your drop-down list), and share on Facebook or Twitter by selecting one of those options. If there are multiple photos in the post you can click the left or right arrow under the photos it find and pick one you want to pin.
7. Click Pin It.

8. Now you will see the link to the blog post on the top right and other pinned photos from your blog from other Pinterest members on the bottom left.
And, if someone clicks on your photo, as inquisitive people often do, they will be taken directly to your blog post.

If your photo is enticing enough or you put a good enough description in the comment box, you may find that you start getting a lot of traffic to your blog.
As they say, “a picture is worth a thousand” words, so make it good!
