Fireworks displays are a big part of Summer and here in Connecticut, our fireworks exhibitions do not disappoint. Here is a list of some of the best fireworks in Connecticut this Summer season.

2012 Mohegan Sun Hot Summer Rooftop Fireworks

Mohegan Sun Casino starts up their Hot Summer Fun Rooftop Fireworks Displays every Wednesday.

Wednesdays at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut are great fun for the entire family. Yes, that’s right, I said family – at a casino? If you have never been to one of their free Rooftop events you just have to make the trip.

Every Wednesday from June 27th to August 29th on the rooftop of the Riverview Garage at Mohegan Sun there are all kinds of things going on from a rooftop battle of the bands to a classic car show, tribal dancers, Sardilli farmer’s market and then fireworks top off the evening. Fireworks under the Stars

Celebrate Independence Day and watch fireworks under the stars with family and friends. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. East Rock’s parking lots and road to the summit will be inaccessible all day, and the city will charge an entrance fee to the park at the base. A shuttle service will be running between the base and the summit from 5 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., with return trips after the show concludes.

Rowayton Fireworks

Bayley Beach

Watch the fireworks light up the sky offshore from Bayley Beach. The performance will last approximately 30 minutes. The best viewing points will be from the mouth of Five Mile River to Rocky Point, including Bayley Beach and the shoreline clubs. Access to parking at Bayley Beach will be according to daytime rules: vehicles with a Bayley Beach sticker will be admitted, a $20 charge will be collected from vehicles without a sticker. The parking lot is expected to fill up early.

Fairfield Fireworks

Come watch the fireworks explode in the sky as they are launched from a barge off of Long Island Sound. Prior to the fireworks enjoy the music from The Atwood Express Oldies Band playing at Jennings Beach from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and The John Stevens Doubleshot Band playing at Penfield Beach from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Beach Parking Permits are not required and parking is free after 6:00 PM at both the Penfield and Jennings parking lots but they do fill up early. Jennings has more ample parking. Rain date is July 5.

Naugatuck Fireworks

The celebration begins at 6:00 pm and includes entertainment, food, novelty booths, and a variety of family oriented activities. The evening will be culminated by a giant fireworks display. Rain date is July 5.

Foxwoods Casino sponsors this yearly Fireworks Extravaganza and it is one of the best in New England. It is part of the four day long Sailfest event on the Thames River in New London, Connecticut. Listen to Q105 (105.5) or WELJ (104.7) just after 9pm for your cue to give a shout out to your friends across the Thames River. It’s the yearly call across the Thames from the Groton to the New London side of the river. The carnival which features rides, game booths, food and fun, will take place at Young’s Field. The fireworks display will be held on Saturday, July 7, at 9:30 p.m. on Fort Hill Still Meadow (behind Starbucks), ending at approximately 10:15 p.m. Please note: Fort Hill Road, Peagler Hill and Town View will be closed to traffic during the fireworks. Rain date for the fireworks is Sunday, July 8.

Greenwich Fireworks

Binney Park and Greenwich Point
Greenwich, Connecticut

Greenwich will have fireworks displays at both Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park. Both shows will begin at dusk and it is strongly recommended that viewers arrive early. The Greenwich Point will be closed when the maximum number of cars for the available parking spaces has been reached. Greenwich Point will be closed to vehicular traffic at 8:30 pm, even if the parking capacity has not been reached. No tailgating allowed at Greenwich Point’s Parking Lots during and after the display. A disc jockey stationed near the South Concession area starting at 7:00 pm will entertain spectators at Greenwich Point.

The Binney Park display will feature the Sound Beach Community Band. They will begin performing at 7:30 pm. They will be located on the Showmobile and this year in the area of Binney Park near the flag pole near Sound Beach Avenue. In addition, grills, cooking and open fires will be prohibited in Binney Park.
